![]() ![]() I think Trinity could benefit from having a few more names to go with the faces. I don't want to see them again, because they're lame as ****. But I hope to dear God, that they get rid of Trinity in Shadow. ![]() Maybe they'll follow through on making her more of a villain, I don't know. Maybe I'm wrong and maybe they'll do something interesting with Trinity in Shadow. You might as well rename it "Croft's Creed". If they keep Trinity around after Shadow, they will have ruined the reboot series for me. She raids tombs and wrecks a bunch of ancient ruins, even moreso than Trinity does. Her stating that "she can make the right difference" is awful to me. I'm stating that Trinity harms Lara as a character. Why not have Lara simply set out to Siberia to clear her father's name, spend most of the time exploring tombs and killing bears or any other animal when combat is involved, and then have the Deathless Ones be the enemies involved? Maybe have Lara struggle between two motivations, one being her father, the other being her thrill for adventure? They could even reveal to us that she was simply using her Dad as an excuse to go on a dangerous adventure. In fact, the game would have stood out because it would be a modern AAA treasure hunting game that doesn't rely on waves of human enemies. If you're that desperate, why not just make it a rich guy or some random generic military dude (that's exactly what Trinity is)? Why go for a renamed Templar organization? Rise would've worked just as fine without the organization element. They always felt like a cheap and contrived justification for the player to shoot human enemies. It's why TLOU2 looks lame as well.īut all in all, the main reason as to why I think Trinity are lame is because I think they're unnecessary. It's always groan inducing whenever that's a plot point, cause it's always done in a cheesy and awful way. I also think that whenever any form of media uses religious fanaticism as a plot point, it's hammy and awful as ****. It all feels like vague, cheap, stock character motivations for the villains and nothing else. That's all awful stuff that infuriates me to no end! I say that as someone who enjoys the narratives in the reboot games (I ****ing ADORE TR13's story, and I think most videogame stories are ****). Whenever they're involved it feels like the writers go "Quick!! Let's just throw out generic common dialogue that literally every religious fanatic in every movie and TV show throws out!!" ![]() I feel like CD/EM don't even know what to do with Trinity. I only found them interesting because I found it really endearing how Konstantin seemed to care for his sister. They're just there to make Lara kill someone while chasing an artifact.Īna and Konstantin were good villains in my opinion (except when they're in the same room, nobody talks like that to their sibling), but it wasn't because they were part of Trinity or whatever. We're three games and three comic book series in, and we still don't know anything substantial about them. ![]() Other than "HURR DURR RELIGIOUS FANATICISM" we know nothing interesting about them. Quite frankly, they feel like an excuse for the player to shoot human enemies and nothing else. The main reason as to why I hate Trinity so much is because they don't feel like real characters or villains. Jonah: "Someone left the toilet seat up." I absolutely cannot stand them and I actively cringe whenever the name "Trinity" is dramatically uttered by Lara: I think it's the only actively bad aspect in the reboot games' narrative. I have been very vocal about my dislike towards Trinity as villains. ![]()
